It still hurts
I guess it's about time I commented on last Sunday's Super Bowl loss by the Pats. First, congratulations to the NY Giants who deserved the win. They made the plays when it counted and my beloved Pats did not. It still hurts thinking about the final 3 minutes or so of the game and what might have been. The game was well within our grasp but we were unable to hold on. Monday morning I felt like I had awoken in an alternate universe, for didn't the Pats always win when they simply had to? Something had to be wrong and hopefully I'd soon be transported back to where I belonged and everything would be OK again. Alas, not to be. This was it. No dream or some kind of weird science fiction scenario.
Anyway, that's how it felt and although each day puts it further back in the rear view mirror, it will probably continue to feel like a bummer for some time. But, now it's time to move on and start thinking ahead to 2008. Hopefully, they'll get back to the SB and this time the results will be more satisfactory.
